The short version. When you call (252) 675-4098 you talk with Tamesha, an AI operator. Every call is recorded and transcribed, and a notice at the start says so. We use your call to help you, text you details you ask for, and remember your recent requests. We share it only with the services that run the line, with a business you ask to be connected to, or, if you win our giveaway, with The Golf Place to book your prize. We don't sell your information. Calls are answered by Tamesha, an AI voice operator, not a person. She can make mistakes, so please check important details like hours or prices with the business.
Every call is recorded and transcribed
A short notice plays at the start of every call: “This call is recorded and transcribed.” Recording starts then and covers your whole call, including your conversation with a business if Tamesha connects you. The business hears its own notice before it joins. By staying on the line after the notice, you agree to the recording. If you don't want to be recorded, please hang up.
Right now this includes calls connected to medical offices such as pharmacies and doctors. Please don't share health details, account numbers or other sensitive information you don't need to. We're working on turning off recording for medical connections and will update this page when that change is live.
What we collect
- Your phone number (from caller ID) and the date, time and length of your call.
- The call recording and a written transcript of the whole call.
- What you asked for: an AI-written summary of the call, the topic, the businesses Tamesha looked up and any she connected you to, whether they answered, and automatic notes about how the call went, such as whether your question was answered, how satisfied or frustrated you sounded, and what language you spoke.
- Your first name, if you tell us or if it's already on file for your phone number.
- Texts we send you, and any replies you send.
- Your email address and name, if you sign up for our emails, and whether our emails were opened or their links clicked.
- For the giveaway: your entries (the calls you make, or the name, age, mailing address and phone number on postcards you mail). If you're the potential winner, your name, proof of age and North Carolina residency, and how to get the prize to you.
On calls, Tamesha doesn't ask for your address, email, or payment or bank details.
How we use it
- To answer your call, find what you asked for, and connect you to a business.
- To text you the details you ask for.
- To remember you. When you call again, Tamesha may greet you by first name and use short summaries of your last few calls. Anyone who calls from the same phone number may hear this. If you block your caller ID, other callers who block theirs may be treated as the same caller, so they could hear your first name or past requests, and you could hear theirs.
- To count connections for local businesses. Apart from the call itself, businesses only get connection counts, never your name, number or what you said.
- To run the giveaway, including counting entries and contacting the winner.
- To check quality, fix problems, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
Who we share it with
- The Golf Place, only if you win our giveaway: your name and phone number, so they can book your prize night.
- A business you ask to be connected to. They hear you once you're connected. Their caller ID shows our number, not yours. They may have their own recording and privacy practices.
- Services that run the line for us, only to provide the service:
- Twilio: phone calls, recording and transcription.
- ElevenLabs, and the AI language-model provider it uses: Tamesha's voice and conversation.
- HighLevel: our customer records, text messages and emails.
- Neon: a database of call and connection records, without your phone number or recordings.
- Vercel: hosting for our systems and this website.
- Search services (Treg, which uses SerpAPI, Google and Exa): when Tamesha looks something up, the search words come from what you asked. We don't add your name or number.
- When the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
We don't sell your information. We don't share your mobile number or text-message consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing.
Emails
If you sign up, we email you New Bern Insider news: local events, tips for using the line and giveaway updates. Local businesses on our list also get notes about how the Insider works for them. We send about three emails a week. HighLevel sends them for us from mail.newberninsider.com and tells us whether an email was opened or a link was clicked. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us to be taken off the list.
Text messages
We text you when you ask Tamesha to, about your request. If you're the giveaway's potential winner, we may also text you about claiming the prize. Texts come from (252) 397-4094 and start with “New Bern Insider.” How many you get depends on what you ask for, up to 3 per call. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts. How long we keep it
We keep call recordings, transcripts, summaries and our customer records while we need them to run the service. We don't delete them on a fixed schedule yet. Our service providers keep their copies under their own settings. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your choices
- Get a copy or delete your information: email discover@strategixagents.com with the phone number you called from, and we'll respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm the number is yours.
- Stop texts: reply STOP.
- Stop emails: click “Unsubscribe” at the bottom of any email, or email us.
- Stop giveaway calls or texts: tell us on the call, reply STOP, or email us.
Children
New Bern Insider isn't meant for children under 13, and the giveaway is only for adults 18 and older. If you think a child under 13 has called us, email us and we'll delete that information.
This website
This website doesn't use cookies, ads or tracking tools. Our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) to run and secure the site. The site's font loads from Google Fonts, so Google also receives your IP address.
Changes
If we change this notice, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If we make a big change to how we use information, we'll post it here first, and we won't apply it to information we already have unless you agree.
